最近,有研究人员调查了绿茶对雄性大鼠生殖系统的影响及其安全性。研究人员对雄性Wistar大鼠随机分别给予2%和5%的绿茶水提取物52天,对照组则饮用自来水。研究发现,体外试验中总多酚、黄烷醇、黄酮醇和可溶性固形物以浓度依赖性方式显著增加(P <0.01)。体重,睾丸、附睾、前列腺、精囊和肝脏的重量,血清中睾酮、还原铁抗氧化力、肌酐和精子活动力的水平均保持不变(P > 0.05)。肾脏重量、精子浓度和活力、自发顶体反应增加(P<0.05),而丙氨酸转氨酶和天门冬氨酸转氨酶水平下降(P<0.05)。另外,睾丸、肝脏和肾脏中的过氧化氢酶、超氧化物歧化酶、谷胱甘肽和脂质过氧化物保持不变(P > 0.05)。睾丸、附睾、肾脏和肝脏的组织学切片未见明显改变。精索小管直径和上皮高度下降,而附睾尾部上皮高度增加(P <0.01)。

最后,研究人员指出,他们的研究使用的条件下食用绿茶应该是安全的,并且改善了精子参数。然而,精小管直径和上皮高度下降、顶体反应增加等细微的结构变化还需要进一步调查。
