在基线时,参与者的平均年龄为39.4岁,平均糖尿病持续时间为29.5年。共有76名参与者在平均10.7年的随访中经历了第一次冠心病事件。基线时,与无CAC组(Agatston评分= 0)相比,1-99、100-399和≥400组的校正HR (95% CI)分别为3.1(1.6、6.1)、4.4(2.0、9.5)和4.8(1.9、12.0)。当CAC容积≥100 (HR 0.3 [95% CI 0.1, 0.9])时,经体积分数校正后,CAC密度与CAD呈负相关。在重复CAC测量的参与者中,控制基线CAC后,每年CAC进展与事件CAD呈正相关。高于和低于每年CAC体积进展中位数的HR
(95% CI)分别为3.2(1.2,8.5)。与只包含已建立风险因素的模型相比,CAC的加入提高了整个组事件CAD事件的预测能力。
